21st Century Folk

I follow the Welsh singer/songwriter Martyn Joseph on social media and it was a pleasure to see him perform in Aylsham recently, so I was delighted when I saw news of a new song from him today! Martyn is one a a group of folk artists who have been asked to write songs as part of a BBC Radio 2 inititative '21st Century Folk' - other artists include the Unthanks!. 

Each song seeks to address some of today's issues through the lens of an individual person and their experience. All the songs are fabulous, and I would encourage you to go and check them out here 

The reason for today's post is that Martyn Joseph's song was so incredibly moving! As someone who often works with people in genuine need, it was fantastic to hear Martyn giving voice to the issues we can all see around us. Well done Martyn and thank you to Andrea and the people like her, up and down the country, who are trying to make the world better, one act of kindness at a time. Here's the song:
